Hey diver-folk,
For those of you who haven't already heard, or haven't already seen the work in progress, there is a huge map of the underwater park being constructed down at Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores. It's awesome! Check out this site for some info because there's too much info to be listed here: www.lajollashoresmap.com.
According to Mary Coakley, who is spearheading this project, it is scheduled to be complete by mid-August. The hope is that the map will be of real benefit for those of us who are trying to introduce new divers to La Jolla's Ecological Preserve. Will also pique the interest of kids who will hopefully grow up to be conservators of our favorite environment.
Of note: they are still accepting donations and anybody who donates a minimum of $250 will get their name, or any name they choose, on a bronze plaque up next to the map. The more you donate, the bigger your name will be. Great for clubs, dive shops, or a surprise gift for your favorite dive buddy. You have until August to donate.
Check it out, you'll be glad you did. Way to go, Mary Coakley and The Map staff!:hurray:
