I'd like to introduce myself here. I've just moved here from Maui. I've been diving since the early 70's, but its all been on Maui. This is my first time for water under 75 degrees, other than a little freediving for abs 30 years ago. I've been fortunate to be able to dive with whales (not intentionally), sharks, giant mantas and hoards of sea turtles. SCUBA is my favorite pastime as well as what put food on the table and a roof over my head. I have several thousand dives with a couple hundred of them at night. Not many from boats, because the boats on Maui mostly go to dive sites more crowded than a ballpark parking lot, and the shore diving there is more interesting anyway.
I'm anxious to dive La Jolla as soon as my new wetsuit is ready.
