Anyone know where there's a good place to get regulators serviced?
I went to OE last time and it was expensive and when I asked
for the old parts back, all I got was a bag full of O'rings. :willy_nilly:

Regulator service depends on brand. Different shops will service what they are certified for (usually what they sell). Prices may vary......
If you want to 'eventually' save money, you could try to get trained on your brand of regulator - not sure how to go about that if you are not working at a shop.
As for parts - you will receive the old O-rings, seat, and whatever else they replace. Sounds like you got the old parts.
Hope that helps....

Two Points:
As a Dive Manufacturer rep:
1) Giving back the old parts to the customer is a liability issue. They can show you the old parts, but are instructed to destroy them.
2) As far as certification to work on your own regs is concerned, you have to be employed with a Dive Center before you would be allowed to take a course. They are conducted for Dive Centers whom are authorized full service dealers.
There are many reasons for these rules, but they are in place to protect the Diver, Dive Center and most importantly the Dive Industry.
You can save money by keeping up your warranty (parts are generally covered for life as long as you get it checked once a year)
Buying your equipment form Authorized Dive Centers (as unauthroized ones Manuf. warranties are void.)
You should call around and see whom has the best labor rates.
