Great day to dive, took the Humboltd dive boat to the point loma
kelp beds! "Table tops" Awesome place, star fish everywhere!
1st dive dropped to 54'ft water temp was 56'f the viz was around
12-15'ft, all kinds of life! Lobster, star fish, kelp bass, sargo, tree
fish, sheephead, perch, large shovelnose, senorita, rockfish and so
on! 2nd dive I was regretting my wetsuit choice, dropped down to
48'ft north west of the table tops, water temp was a chilly 55'f...
Well, chilly for my 5mm anyway! Same stuff there, huge rock formations
with ledges and drop offs. No sand anywhere to be seen, all rock and
coral. Captain gave the option for the Yukon dive for half price, had
to pass it up! Looks like I will be buying a 7mm suit very soon, all in all
very good trip! Humboltd crew was awesome, totally kick back!

Nice! We saw the big H on it's way back out to wreck alley while we were coming back in the channel today. Wondered if you were on that boat.

Great pics! Which camera are you using?

Thank you, I just ordered a 7mm Bare wetsuit and my buddy
just got his cert but he has been diving for a while now so
we will be diving there again soon! We should plan a Yukon-kelp
trip, that would be awesome!!!:cheers2:

Say has anyone heard about the recent six gill encounters in the point loma kelp area near 7 fathoms I think? Two seperate encounters in the last week in the same area there has been a six gill that has been territorial and some what aggressive towards some divers. It's been speculated that he just wants divers in his part of the forest to get the hell out so if you see him, take a picture and swim the other way:) He has also been stalking divers for awhile, one diver even got bumped real hard in the tank, creeeeeeeeeeeepy! Any hoo just a heads up becuase it's been all over divebums discussion board
