Visibility today was only 3’-5’ and there was a moderate surge. The swell wasn’t too bad when we first headed out around 9:30AM but picked up by the time we were exiting The Shores. The waves were about 1’-3’. We had lots of fun though! The rough conditions made it a little more exciting. And more good news, the squid run is on! There are lots of dead adults along the Canyon wall. It’s like a calamari buffet! I saw lots of single egg sacks but not too many big bunches. Just one or two from the East to Way North Wall.

Hey, Jim! I have to say, I dig the layout of this site...
Saw a few egg sacs, but no squid yesterday. Are they more of a nocturnal critter?
Wanna go for a night dive Wednesday?

Hey guys:
Went on a night dive Wed at the main wall (headed south)--it was a veritable squid bonanza! I saw big clusters of egg sacs and tons of squid. I got some video of a squid swimming and a still of two squid mating. Pretty cool. Also saw lobster, a nudi, decorator crab, kelp crab, swimming crabs...the works. Pics and video at:

Viz was very decent that night--probably 15-20.
Dive Ho,
