4/5/09 LJS Dive

Well... After looking at the web cam
and sitting around all morning me and
Diverpoa decided to go jump in despite
the poor conditions, when we got in
the water around 3pm it looked great!
Then it got real dark and green, no surge
though! Viz was around 3'-5'ft until about
40'ft of depth, then it cleared to around
10'-15'ft. Even then a lot of stuff floating
in the water, lot's of sea weed washed up
on shore and starting to stink!
Decided not to take a compass and see
how good my navigation is... Ended up
somewhere we've never been before!
Just a little south then planned, worked
out great though! I made a video of the
dive and took some pics using the lights
that we made, will post the video after
it downloads! The pic of Diverpoa you
can see just how greeeeeeen it was!

ye jeff,was awesome with 120 steel tanks,max depht. 73ft.,bottom time 1hr.03 min.,unfortunantly the water wasn't clear enough,but we take nice photos and video.:sifone:

Yeah, 1st time I seen one...
I got lucky the crab ran it over
or I would have never seen it!
It's amazing how much more you
see with good lighting and getting
very close to the bottom... Very close!

I got a 30 cube pony, so no need for
the 19cf... But I may keep it for shallow
dives.

Saw your 19cf bottle on craigslist - I'm offering $1 per "cf" Don't waste time thinking it over, if you hurry I'll round it up to $20.00 - Thats like an extra cf of profit.

I got my Steel 120cf at the Sports Chalet in Mission valley. There may be 1 or 2 left at that location.

how much are they? new? and whats a good price to pay for a used one??

I just scored a 72cf Faber shorty for $100
It has the REE number on it too!

Look for the newer tanks, they are lighter
and have the convertible valves in them!

If possible a high pressure tank, if it has a
J-valve on it... Pass it up!

It's a little drive but it's all there, you have
to keep on it though or it's gone!

Tips for searching... Type> "dive tanks"

"dive tank" and "scuba"

Also if someone is selling a bunch
of gear... Most likely they will
part with what they have, so look
at people who have a package or
a bunch of stuff in one add and call
them to ask just to sell that one item.
