:auto:I was thinking that off of California you are going to need the best fins you can get especially if you dive off the beach. If you get caught in a rip current and it is the only way back to the beach you are going to need power. I have been told that the ScubaPro Split fins are the best. Does anyone else have any comments?:Chevy_anim:

Great fin! Tusa's are nice too, but you can't
beat the build quality of the Scubapro!
Black is stiffer than colored fins in these
brands, you pay for what you get in this case!

I used the Scuba Pro Jet Fins for a long time... still like them, but I now dive the MANTA RAY fins and find that I get more power with less effort. Give them a try.

Haven't tried the Scubapro split fins but have tried several others. Would say the Atomic split fins worked the best for me. Will also agree about the Mantaray fins, they're nice and compact and work real well.

Thanks for the response. I am a member of the Bottom Bunch and sometimes on the club dives John will bring sets of the Manta Ray fins so I have already tried them, but I am pretty serious about getting the best fins out there. There is a new fin from ScubaPro Seawing Nova

splits may not be the best idea if you want them for swimming through current. Manta rays are amazing fins but a little short. Try mares avanti superchannel or the plana avanti, great fins!
