Hello there,
after a scuba tour of the canyon I would like to share what we experienced.
When we first descended it was a bit mirky with about 5' vis. When we started our swim into the canyon we were greeted by a 3' bat ray right on the lip of the east wall. He was startled but let us watch him for a minute or so before taking flight. Vis did not open up until we made it to the north plateau, where it was 15' visibility. There was so much bat ray activity that we would go from 15' vis down to 3' in some spots. This made it difficult to point stuff out to my divers. After we started on our way home we got separated and surfaced shortly after. Everyone on the tour had a blast.
