Got in the H2O today, I have not dove the canyon since 2004 sure has changed. Looks like there has been some erosion or shifting:confused: or is it just me. I saw an octopus at the sand dollar bed then a commerant scared the crap out of me. He was down about 20FT boy did not know birds could swim like that I want his fins.

no you weren't narc'ed. canyon has definitely changed. We had storms in the winter of 2006 that shifted many spots. The Cabezon Cruiser that was at 130ish feet is actually down a couple hundred into the canyon now. cool though huh? like a new area to explore... BTW, the Humboldt does dives to La Jolla now to some weird spots. They went the other day, apparently it was epoch.

Yeah, they also went to Quast Rock Reef Complex this last trip, which is kind of on the southern end of La Jolla Canyon, where the kelp hangs at the bend of the coast. Didn't go myself but talked to a few who did, good reports.
