Hey everyone.
I'm new to the forum. Going to be driving out from Phoenix for my first Ocean dive and was looking for a buddy around the La Jolla Area. I'm an AOW Diver with PPB and Underwater Nav Specialties. Just looking for someone that knows the area and wants to blow bubbles. I'm bringing two tanks with me, got all my own gear just need a buddy. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks

call OEX there at LJ hire one of there DM for a DLD they know the area better than anyone. Not sure of the cost but its well worth it! I use to be an active DM and for your first ocean dive better do it with someone that knows the area and is experienced. Never know who you might get to buddy up with otherwise.

I did check out oex. I just have a problem paying 60 bucks for a shore dive. One dive that is, when I pay 60 bucks for a 3 tank boat dive in arizona..... Also, I've got tanks and weights now, so it's just not worth it to me. Thanks anyway

You can try going down to Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores or La Jolla Cove in the morning, there's usually a bunch of divers milling around, especially on the weekend. Most are classes but there's usually a couple divers happy to hook up. Tell them you'll buy a round afterwards if they don't get you lost. BTW, where are you boat diving in AZ?

Oh yeah, just checked the Humboldt schedule, they're going to Wreck Alley on Sunday a.m. $89 for two dives, not bad.

There's lakes in Arizona to dive. Lake Pleasant is about 150 ft max depth. Has about 140 miles of shoreline. Thanks for the advice. I'll check that out for sure...
